Thank you for taking the time to talk to me this morning. While I realize that I paid you for your time, I can tell that this is much more than a business for you - it is a way that you can make a real difference in the lives of many people in a positive way - I envy you! In some ways I have that result when I remodel a customers house and it improves the quality of their lives. But with your work you impact lives at the very core. It is a very worthwhile thing you are doing here. I hope it is profitable enough for you to continue.

It is difficult to settle for less than you have already experienced. So it is that I have talked to you for three hours and I wonder if I will now measure every lady I meet against a very high standard. I realize all that you said about the impotence of your education and family background and the corresponding social status. I did not understand how important finding a woman who had upper level education was - if I understood you correctly - it means more than just an education.

I am going to write my Russian friend today or tomorrow - and I will send you a copy. I just have to find some peace with what I will say to her. I guess it is true to say that I really like her - and respect her - and in some ways I feel sorry for her too. I have always been one to place someone else's feelings and needs above my own - but that philosophy will not work here…
