Achievements
of Russian Women Abroad
I never thought it could be possible
Dear Natasha,
Your site is terrific! You really are doing a great job. Thank you!!! I would
recommend http://russianwomenabroad.com to anyone who wants either to find out
more about Russia or marry a Russian girl. Some of my Russian friends have
already visited it! This site is one of the very few that contains truthful
information about Russian and American realities.
My name is Vera. I've been leaving in the US for 4 years. I am married to an
American and now attend school full-time. I will graduate this year from one of
the most recognized Nursing schools in Texas. I am a member of two honor
societies, have received two scholarships, and been recognized on "The
National Dean's List 2001-2002". I am looking forward to start my career as
a Registered Nurse in one of the best hospitals in the world. Only five years
ago I would have never thought that would be possible.
I guess my life here started much easier than for the most girls, because I had
a university degree in English, worked for several American companies in Russia,
including “The Coca Cola Company”. I took classes in psychology from
American lecturers, and was familiar with American culture. I have a wonderful
husband and his family loves me as much as I love them. Of course, I have not
regretted about anything I left behind.
I have something to share with other Russian women. The website http://www.thrivenet.com
will be an excellent source of support for many of them during difficult times,
because it tells about people who were able to succeed in VERY difficult, almost
impossible, circumstances. They can read their stories under Past Stories. If
Liz Murray, a homeless teenager from NY, could get to Harvard on a "The New
York Times" scholarship, then most of us can succeed in this country as
well, just because we had a better start in life than a homeless teenager. For
women who find it difficult to adopt to their American lives and new families, I
would recommend reading books about American culture.
Good luck!
Vera
